A new PS Vita jailbreak method has been discovered, which eliminates the need to use a PC and makes it easy for anyone to play around with a jailbroken PS Vita. A video demonstration shows that it takes under 10 minutes to get everything up and running. All players need is the handheld, and a cheap SD2Vita adapter to use a microSD card. The jailbreak is executed via the Vita’s browser
Sony is unlikely to crack down on PS Vita jailbreak
Sony may have forgotten about the PS Vita but the handheld’s dedicated community hasn’t. There’s a lot players can do with a hacked handheld – including playing games they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. Thanks to Retro Game Corps, here’s a step-by-step video guide to get you started:
The method above works with all PS Vita models except PS Vita 1000, which will require an official Sony memory card. Retro Game Corps recons that there is away to bypass that, however, by using this guide to partition the Vita and create internal memory.
Those who prefer written guides rather than videos can follow these step-by-step instructions.
Since Sony has long abandoned the PS Vita, it’s unlikely that this method will ever be patched.
